Manager

Managers not only manage their wrestlers but accompany them to the ring. Dory Funk Jr. will instruct you on the finer points of personality and how you can help your wrestler to the greatest advantage. Women managers, called Valets in the wrestling world, can be especially distractive to opponents and referees. The manager is a professional spokesperson who crafts and/or guides a wrestler's career, while the valet can also serve as eye candy.

Referee

The referee is an authority figure present in or near the ring during matches. The ref is there to keep the peace and make sure the rules are followed. However, things can and do get spicy in the rings so referees must train with the rest of the crew. There is no telling when a ref will be physically involved. He must also render decisions in accordance with the promotion's rules.

Announcing: Lets get Ready to Rumbllleee

LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE... IN THIS CORNER..Learn how to get the crowd wound up and informed about who is wrestling. The ring announcer not only announces the matches but can also provide running commentary as the match goes along.

For broadcasts , the color commentator is usually the "heal sympathizer" - supporting the bad guys - but not always.

Some wrestling training is also included.

Why?

When things dont go right in the ring, who can the losers take it out on?

Our History

In 1999, the legendary Dory Funk Jr. – master of the spinning tow-hold and a towering champion from Texas -- opened a camp to train professional wrestlers. Funk’s camps also yielded The Funkin’ Dojo, a recruiting showcase affiliated with the World Wrestling Federation.
.
The Funking Conservatory started as a physically demanding, six-day camp that taught everything from technique and showmanship to conditioning to weight training. The Conservatory also trained professional referees, wrestling managers and announcers..
.
To this day, the school accepts students starting at 14 years old. It trains wrestlers in hardcore wrestling with a heavy focus on safety. .
.
The Conservatory also provides the athletes with live audiences in filmed hardcore matches. .
.
The Conservatory later expanded to an all-year program. In 2001, it started a professional wrestling promotion called !Bang! Members of the school had a chance to appear on its television show, !Bang! TV. Funk's wife, Marti, produces the show and serves as its videographer. Marti is also the social media director for the school. .
.
In 2004, the school moved to the Dory Funk Arena in Ocala, Florida It consists of a ring, sound stage and locker rooms..
.

!Bang! TV.
.
The !BANG! TV tapings are held in the Dory Funk Arena on Saturday nights.[2] Hosted by Dory Funk Jr., the live matches are widely known as "the most exciting pro-wrestling show on the air." The matches sometimes include guest superstars and Conservatory alums.
